    Children are born, with flexibility, strength and vitality.  Losing these abilities is not natural aging; it is the failure to maintain our good health.    

    Use it or lose it.  Physical activity places demands on our bodies.  Our activities "teach" our body how strong it should be, how fast, and how much stamina we need.

     Change is good, and any exercise program should focus on "periodicity", otherwise known as cross training.  Just like our minds, if our bodies aren't constantly challenged, they get bored.

   Growing pains can happen to athletes of any age, as they challenge themselves daily.  Aches and soreness are indicators of change, but can also be warnings of possible injury.

 TREATMENT

    Sports massage makes the body better at adapting to new activities, and speeds recovery time.  It reduces Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, or DOMS.   

    Injuries are caused by excessive force on our muscles and joints.  This is usually because the body isn't flexible enough.

    Effective treatment involves releasing areas of stress through deep tissue techniques, frictions, and stretching. 

    Vigorous flushing techniques feed the muscles and remove waste products that clog the tissues.
