Back pain:
|
CRUMBLING FOUNDATION Long bands of muscle run from our head down to the low back (just above the tailbone). A solid foundation that supports the entire weight of our upper body, these muscles need to stretch and shift in response to our every movement. Growing tired and sore, these muscles often tighten up, making it hard to move without pain. Locked up and in spasm, the hip, pelvis, and torso no longer absorb the shocks and stress of walking, running, and sitting for long periods. TREATMENT Posture is not a dirty word! It's just another word for balancing our body against the pull of gravity. Assessment is critical to determine where the stress is on the hip, pelvis, and back, and what is the best way to release it. Stretching and posture exercises can quickly help relieve pain, often with a single session. Posture techniques help prevent pain from coming back. |
